Leo Meets Real Life Superhero

Leo meets real life superhero

Leo Lagana cashed in on a promise made by KidzWish founder Chris Beaven and had his wishes granted for his 18th birthday.

The teenager tips the scales at just 18 kilograms and he stands no bigger than an average four-year-old. The 18-year-old boy, from Illawarra in Sydney’s south, has a rare form of primordial dwarfism – a condition causing underdevelopment of limbs.

Despite his diminutive stature, Leo has a dynamic personality that’s certainly bigger than his height.

With the help of Dosh Limousines the KidzWish ambassador arrived in style before enjoying his first beer with family and friends at the bar.

Just as he was finishing, Leo, Australia’s only primordial dwarf, was encouraged to go outside just in time to see Batman arrive in the Batmobile.

The smile said it all. Leo went for a ride with his favourite crime fighting superhero.

The function room at the pub was full of KidzWish supporters, friends and family. And that was where another birthday wish came true with the help of Heather Hopkinson, of All Occasion Cakes, who had prepared a large Toy Story cake with Woody and Buzz Lightyear on top.

Leo was also joined by his brother Matthew, sister Lucy and mum Pauline who said “every day is a blessing and every birthday is a milestone. Leo is very lucky to have KidzWish.”

Chris Beaven once made Leo a promise that when he turned 18 she would buy him his first beer

Mrs Beaven said “KidzWish are working hard to support kids like Leo because local kids matter. If you think that’s worth something, then please support us.”
